Yeah, I saw one 4-pack of it in Maynooth there last week too.

That is not a good sign. The 5 for €10 offer was advertised to finish today. They should have all the market research after the 10 or so weeks the 5 for 10 have been on and hopefully the powers that be can be open minded enough to see a growing market when they see one.
The offer they have been running though very good for both new and more established craft beer drinkers i don't see as good in the long run. Below cost selling is never good for competition. I do agree that it has been a good way to introduce many non craft beer drinkers to a product they may normally see as too expensive for a bottle of beer.

What i would like to see is offers on the entire range of beer stocked in Tesco not just the major Bud-Hyno-Carls. So every now and again the full line gets a promo.

Weekly special O'Hara's Irish pale ale / Red/ Stouts 25% off for this weekend only.
I'd got that that every few months.

I just spotted a photo on page 15 of this morning's Metro Herald - two ladies pictured at the "launch of Guinness Black Lager at the Tivoli theatre". So Diageo are still persisting with this!?

Have they tinkered with the recipe or is it still 'blando commando'?

Bought 8 of these in Dunnes Arklow €7 per 4.
I all up for mixing unusual flavours and I love good lager and stout.
No doubt we will get Guinness Black Cider next or Bulmers Apple larger.
It is a very confused drink and is a bad attempt at mixing both it tasted like watery stout.
Guinness farts with a lager hangover wasn't pleasant either <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->
