Brewing, maybe more than a hobby 16 years 3 months ago #1

So, I'm coming to the end of my time in UCD and I don't think I want to be an Environmental Biologist. It's also the time of year I should be looking at what I'm going to do from next September, the next couple of years, my life and so on. The plan is to apply for everything now then narrow it down during the summer, and I'd like to include some sort of brewing courses/degrees/internships in my mess of applications.

My question is, are there any brewing institutions around UK and Ireland that have a particularly good reputation?

I know brewing is a pretty broad term. I'm looking for any sort of suggestions though. I doubt I'm the first person on ICB to consider this.

Herriot and Watt seems to be the place.

You could always just show up to your nearest brewery and ask if they need any help.

Heriott Watt in Edinburgh have a 4 year degree in brewing science, maybe it also covers distilling. The first two years are exactly the same as the first two years of Biology. If you have a biology degree I think you can go straight in to the second two years

The site there is a bit out of date , because it was set up for something they did a few years ago, But you'd never know what they're at until you give 'em a buzz
