Just curious as to what people think...even more so if there are employers posting here

Yeah, I'd do it. And obviously I'd be happy to see it on a CV.

I'd have no problem putting Homebrewing as an interest on my CV (although hopefully I won't have to do that for a long while, and if I do it'll be by choice <!-- s:? --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_confused.gif" alt="" title="Confused" /><!-- s:? --> )

I would have reservations about putting down "An interest in Beer", not because there's anything wrong with it, but more because people could misinterpret it.
But the whole point of putting down interests/hobbies on your CV is to show that you actually do more than sit around in your pants all day watching tv. It also gives the interviewer a chance to get to know you a little less formally. So I suppose if you could articulate your interest well enough to dispel any perceived misconceptions you'd be good to go.

I'd be wary about putting beer drinking on my CV on it's own. However, now that I've squeezed out a couple of extract batches I can use that as a lever to make an interest in beer look less... couch-centric.

Well if you made the beer yourself it would.

I suppose the fact that we're even debating means that it's a bit of a minefield to be stayed away from.

Personally I think it depends on the job, a CV is there to try and sell you to a prospective employer. Beer making as a process would go down well I think with certain type of employers (those who are looking for mechanically minded people) and not so well with others (who could possibly see it as alternative and therefore undesirable)
