Just on the topic of Beoir/ICB and wondering what proportion of people are brewer or non-brewers <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

Some people sought out and joined ICB because they are or wanted to be home brewers.

Some people joined ICB because it was the best place to talk and learn about quality beer, and especially supporting Irish beer.

Some people joined because of the love of beer, but got the brewing bug from the other geeks <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt="" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) -->

Which are you?

I think that every person who likes craft beer makes or has made their own, otherwise its a "weird beer that you never heard of before" or a "cheap knock off of ken with a weird plant taste, hahah beer!*".

For me it started off as a thing to fill my unemployed days, and a means to a cheaper drink at home, but the taste has kept me at it and made me more interested in craft beer in general.

I've always wanted to make my own Homebrew ever since I was a kid and seen my mad aunties wine factory in the spare room of my granny's house. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

And every time I was on Boards I'd keep on seeing the big Homebrew thread as well as the links in a few peoples's sigs so I just decided to give it ago. Tbh, it's only since I've gotten into brewing my own that I really started to take notice of Craft Brewing and all the many many different types and styles of beers that are out there. <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Nah that's definitely not true.

It's probably more generally correct to say that MOST people (but not all - some just want cheap alcohol) who brew their own are also interested in craft beer.
