My name is Alex. I live in Milltown, Dublin. I am from Portland, Oregon on the west coast of the US but have lived in Ireland for about a year. I have worked as a brewer here in Ireland and around the world. I love good beer and am happy to join you on Irish Craft Brewer.

Welcome abroad, who did you work for?

In Ireland I helped Cuilan Loughnane set up his brewery in Templemore and did some special project work in Kilkenny at the Smithwicks brewery. Before that I set up a brewpub in Singapore (The Pump Room) and have worked at Bridgeport and Pyramid breweries in the US.

I have a question for the group:

What do you think of the Porterhouse bottling there beer? And on that note what american craft brews would you rate?

yep plain and hop head available in good offies, the plain is fantastic!

SNPA is a great go to beer, but generally lover stone, gooses island, dog fish 60 min, flying god and Smuttynose Robust Porter just of the top of my head <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

I think the plain is Porterhouse's strength. Liked the hop head but didn't think it was all that great. Being from Portland would have like more fresh hop in the nose and didn't think it was very well balanced. Where can you get dog fish head or the Smuttynose? Love gooses island but hate the price.

Its great to find some people who love good beer!
