Hi All,
I will be heading to Ghent this weekend. Anyone been? *Looks in the direction of Dr. John*
I'm looking for Beer, Café and Restaurant recommendations here. I may also try to persuade the better half to take in a brewery tour, if there is one available.

We will be arriving into Brussels (not Charleroi) early Saturday and leaving again Late Monday evening, so Breweries in Ghent or Brussels are a possibility.

Any suggestions?

We've been to Brussels before, but never Ghent. We won't be going out in Brussels, but if there was a brewery I could visit on after we fly in on Saturday, or before we fly out on Monday, I may be able to do a tour. I am considering Cantillon allright Oblivious, but I have heard that it's a bit disappointing.

Out side of Brussels the public transport is quite bad to most of the Trappist breweries.

I enjoyed a couple of St Sixtuses in Waterhuis aan de Bierkant[/url:76mxesq3] on Good Friday a few years back. Ghent also has a fantastic restaurant called Pakhuis[/url:76mxesq3].
