This is the one I use;

www.play.com/Books/Books/4-/1090 ... oduct.html

Marginally cheaper but I'm not sure how it compares to the other more expensive ones. It must be reasonably good because it's on the Heriot Watt reccommended texts list.

Hdbk of Brewing 2e[/url:ffh2x29y] in Amazon for £109. Even 2nd hand it's 100 quid

Thanks all for the pointers and thoughts.

Hodges Figgis sold it to me for €80. I'll be favouring them when I'm trying to decide which side of Dawson St. to use for a long time!

Funny, if it had been marked down as €80 in the first place I wouldn't have considered it. But becuase it's knocked down to nearly a third, I'm all of a sudden chuffed! I'm hoping it will count for more than one book over the years.

Wow! Fair play to them. I tend towards that side of the street normally

Since I don't (yet) know Dublin that well, I'm assuming that Dawson Street has a number of book shops (Dublin's equivalent to Charing Cross Road?). So, I have just informed the wife of this and she smiled and started rubbing her hands. She loves books and had to give away most of a library of ~1,800 books when she moved from Argentina to Scotland. However, she's been working on rebuilding her library and I'm sure she'll love exploring the book shops of Dublin.

That's given me an idea... I'd hoped to visit Edinburgh tomorrow earlier that usual (we meet a friend for drinks regularly on Tuesday evenings) in order to pay a visit to Edina Home Brew but now realise that we can't do that because we have a visit from an estate agent ...but we've yet to explore the second-hand book shops in Edinburgh so that would be a good excuse to visit on Saturday. I could leave Mara rooting around in the book shops while I visit Davey...

Congrats on the purchase, though a choice between Hodges Figgis and Waterstones isn't really a choice as they're the same company. (Presumably you're not talking about that awful Eason's, unless you buy a lot of Marian Keyes).

Dublin does have some great bookshops though, Les. The newly-built Chapters[/url:1m24y9px] on Parnell Street is magnificent.
