This says something about how people feel about beer.

Poor lads out there for 6 months of torment and then they stuck with a can of grolsch or something even more yellow on the way home. They are gonna need a lot of therapy to get through that.

...I havent seen too many bitters in a can apart from the big manky ones..more insult to the lads

After six months getting shot at, without anything to steady the nerves, even Grolsch would taste like ambrosia.

My point is really about how beer is perceived. They are using beer to say "Here you go mate. Well done. Put your feet up, you're on your way home." Would any other beverage say the same thing in this context?

A large whiskey would do me.

But yeah, being handed a cold one with a pat on the back would be quite a reward.

Just how I feel every time I head to the shed for a beer....more of a justification issue with me really especially on Monday or Tuesday nights
