Thinking of Investing in a Micro 16 years 8 months ago #1

Folks,

First post and all so saying Hi to you all.

I am an Irish chap and have a bit of time on my hands and resources on my hands and am thinking of investing both in the right micro brewery.

Have not identified the right opportunity yet but would be very interested to hear your opinions on same.

I am an entrepreneur by background, good at the numbers, financials, and can even be a sales man when needed.

Was born and raised "in" a rural pub and from about 11 was pulling pints. I remember the first draught I pulled. It was a glass (half pint)of Perry's (from Rathdowney) and it cost 17p.

So very much appreciate any and all thoughts.

Best,

Heywood

Welcome to the site Heywood. Have a look at our big thread on starting a commercial brewery[/url:3r22i7li], maybe talk to Cillian[/url:3r22i7li] about how he's getting on, and definitely talk to the other Irish microbreweries about what you need to do to break into the market.

And come back to us with any more questions. I think all of us would love to see more Irish breweries -- especially ones who can see beyond the beer types already flooding the market.

Welcome Heywood,

I guess there are already two routes you could take - invest in a new venture or see if any of the existing micros can expand with the right capital behind it and are open to your ideas.

I heard the Dublin Brewing Company would love to get brewing their own beers again. Maybe they could do with a helping hand.
