Beer in movies 16 years 9 months ago #1

[quote:3f7pldin]"A man," he says, "working in the outdoors, feels more like a man if he can have a bottle of suds." Morgan Freeman's narration chimes in once they're perched on a roof, swilling away: After drinking that "Bohemia-style" brew, they all "felt like free men."[/quote:3f7pldin]

There is a good article here[/url:3f7pldin] on beers in movies. Ice Cold in Alex and the Shawshank redemption are two great examples.

What other movie beer moments stand out[/url:3f7pldin]? Any from Irish films?

How about beer in TV shows? There's a character in Breaking Bad who brews his own beer. In one episode we see him cap some bottles and then later that night they start to explode violently in his garage.

I also remember a scene in Blue Velvet that features Heineken fairly prominently. David Lynch really does have a knack for exposing the seedy underbelly of suburban life!

also in one of those brit comedies like keeping up appearances there was an awful bore of a guy who kept offering people his dreaded homebrew. It was always stuff like elderflower wine and the like. can't remember the program just the scene.
