Thanks Guys 16 years 11 months ago #7

This is great ,a forum that people actually answer back ha ha ha .

Anyway cheers guys for that ,
Regarding the 1lt bottles i think i may leave that alone for the reason ill have to drink all 1 lt in 1 go and that would be terrible ha ha ..

I had over 60 bottles that i used for my last few batches but the wife is sick of seeing empty bottles,

anyway i was sick of washing all 60 and had a problem sterlizing them didnt have a bucket big enough to do it in 1 go ,, i know im lazy should be sitting there doing this and not complaining ha ah

Will have to re-think this bottling crack ,as i have 2 buckets in hotpress ready for bottling Saturday

Thanks for the reply lads

Heres a question for ya

Is there anywhere homebrew shop in Ireland that you can actually go in and have a look around i know there is a few in the Uk but i buy all my stuff on line from a place in Ireland ,great service but would like to go and see ,also i know there was an Expo in Cork last month ,but by anychance do any members meets up and beer taste ,there is a bigger world of homebrew products out there and different tastes .
Ive tried mainly Coopers Range i like Miller and trying to find a beer that tastes like this , but this time i have coopers Caveza ( i know i spelt that wrong ) they say it taste like Corona,

Anyway Folks leave ye too it hope to hear back from ye soon

Also, be careful of the temperature in your hotpress: you don't want your beer exposed to temperatures much above 22 or 23 degrees.

"Mc Cleverty":2twws3kq wrote: do any members meets up and beer taste[/quote:2twws3kq]Yep, there are regular meet-ups in Cork and Dublin. Watch the Events[/url:2twws3kq] forum. You'd be very welcome to either.

The "lager" kits, intended for fermenting at room temperature, are actually blonde ales. I don't know who you heard say the Cooper's Mexican Cerveza kit tastes like Corona -- the couple I've tasted certainly didn't.

You get much better results brewing ales and stouts.

Welcome to the site, and I hope you find useful things here.

I am lucky in that I work with Germans who have cases of empty weizen bottles standing about at home.
I am waiting on another six cases of 20 half litre bottles at the moment, presently I have 17 cases of half litres bottles and 1 which is 24*330ml bottles.
It's a lot of cases of bottles, and comes to almost 200l but I intend to throw a large party next year and don't think that they'll go to waste.

If anybody ever wants empty Guinness Pt Bot (i.e the returnable real glass dark brown bot in crates)
just drop into me I always have a few knockin around.
I think they're perfect for home brew.
You'd just have to pay the refundable €4.20 for a crate and a dozen empty Pt Bottles (plus you'd have to clean and sterilize... obviously)

If you wanted to go the bottling rout, you could do a lot worse than take drinkstore up on his offer. Those returnable Guinness bottles are very good quality glass and the crates make them handy to store.

I will be looking at those bottles -cheers bud ,

atlast a Irish group of people that do homebrew ,didnt think there were many out there ha ha ,, my mistake

Also ill be looking at the events guide ,, i love my beer's lived in Holland for years and could get different types there ,, i just find in Ireland it costs too much to be buying different brands off the shelf ,,
Brewing my own is great ,, My wife always says ill drink anything outta a welly ( well she didnt but cant say what she said on here ha ha )

Cheers Lads for your help
and hope that maybe we can all have a pint of each others Brew someday
