Microbrewery Start up 17 years 1 week ago #8

Glad to see that you are thinking of taking the plunge and opening a Microbrewery.

I am not in the business but I am a home brewer. I woudl think that before you start a business like this you need a complete passion for your product. Really want to succeed.

I was in the vegatable business, growing and distributing...that was difficult enough as the shops were tied into central purchase agreements and didn't really want to see me coming, but the product was of a higher qaulity than they could purchase centrally and aslo i would go door to door selling the produce, so it kinda was in their interest to buy it from me.

Beer production is a diffierent game. I think before you actaully spend serious money on this venture, I would advise some product R&D and perhaps go to farmer markets and give it away via sample bottle and get people to sample your produce and get feeeback.

i enjoy making beer and I love the beer making processing. But unitl i could be sure of making a few bob profit and that people woudl actuall want to buy it, i would keep my money in my pocket !!!

There's my advice

I don't think Hendrixcat or the other guys have any problems in that regard
