But some people think there might be a problem, so you have to ban it. You can't wait for evidence! By the time you have evidence it could be too late! Besides, everyone knows, if you make a law, the problem goes away and you can stop worrying about it.[/quote:xxik2o43]

Even if it was the case of a ban first and ask questions later that would be one thing. But even when later things turn out to be ok[/url:xxik2o43] stuff remains in the same state[/url:xxik2o43].

Not that I particularly care about the legal status of a bunch of things I would never take, but it is symptomatic of a lack of rationality in decision making.

I'd say Tom Parlon might have something to say about that.

Nobody's building anything these days, but people are still drinking.

I should have a chat with the LVA some day, after all I look after their IT and have never talked to anyone there about anything other than computers.

As it stands the government gets vat right?, im pretty sure I pay vat when I order homebrew stuff. Then again, ingredients should be considered food... Agh the whole VAT thing is confusing. I saw a sign in a subway recently saying that they now had to charge vat on warm subs (toasted) so to avoid, order your sub cold.

Yeah, with brouwland you pay 6% on ingredients and 21% on equipment. (don't have a homebrewcompany invoice to hand)

The whole idea of gateway drugs is rubbish, as someone else said they were drinking water long before they were drinking alcohol.
