Heineken calls time on Beamish abroad 17 years 1 month ago #1

[quote:19e28tga]
BEAMISH[/url:19e28tga] is no longer sold anywhere outside Ireland because its new owners, Heineken, are "focusing on the domestic market".

Is this the beginning of the end for Beamish?

17 years 1 month ago #2

nope the beginning of the end was when the competition authority deemed the purchase of beamish by one of their main competitors to be a perfectly natural and competition stimulating thing for them to do. gobshites!*

Looks like all our worst fears are coming to pass.

I fear there will be no Beamish in Ireland at this rate within a few years at the very most. Heineken'a actions in Spain alone speaks volumes.

Como on Heineken tell us the truth - Do yo want to kill off Beamish slowly (or not so slowly!) Please prove me wrong!!!!!

It does look like they are winding down. First comes the we're focusing on the domestic market next comes the well performance in the domestic market is poor so we will no longer be making Beamish and will consolidate our efforts in Murphys. Or some such marketing nonsense.

Concentrate on domestic market
Concentrate on the local market
Then make people queue up and know a secret handshake to get it
Then get rid of it because sales are low
but dont worry cork drinkers can still have murphy's
