I was expecting there to be some competitiveness between Italy and Ireland today. I wasn't expecting it to be in the realms of amateur hop-growing though.

I'm hoping to start growing hops this year too, but I have no idea where I could buy them from. Anyone got any suggestions? Where did you guys source yours?

Well for the English varieties I have dealt sucessfully with <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.aplus-hops.co.uk/">www.aplus-hops.co.uk/ For the German varieties I am still waiting on an order from these dudes www.eickelmann.de/">www.eickelmann.de/ but seems fine so far. A-plus sell you rhizomes (roots) for about £5 each, whereas eickelmann sell cuttings (small seedling plants) at about €7.50 including postage. Unfortunately there is some agri-disease control law prohibiting the americans selling hops roots to us but if you have a friend in the US willing to forward to you you might be able to work around that. Dr. Jacoby and I are looking into that.

For the US richiehamilton if you like we can arrange a group for buying them as soon as somebody found someone in US.
