Exchange rate 17 years 1 month ago #1

Just bought more stuff on fleabay and got a rate of 0.919746 euro to sterling. Lovely stuff!
Although why I bought more caps and bungs and airlocks and taps is beyond me, but at least I got a good rate. The wife is going to go mad again

It's a bargain! That's worth twice what I paid for it. Now what am I going to do with a nearly functional, florescent green, flax raveller, adapted for left handed use?

I've brewing stuff to buy in Sterling but I reckon I'll hold off for a week or two until I need it and save even more.

The Brits (and the yanks too for that matter) are going in for a bit of quantitative easing (the economists nice way of saying printing money) at the moment while the ECB has been reluctant to do the same so expect the Euro to get stronger again.

Which leaves BL in a bit of a bind when it comes to his policies in relation to excise duties, put up the price of a drink by too much and the line of cars going to Newry will be back as far as Drogheda. Maybe he's learned a lesson from the antics with the VAT rate, but him being a FFer, I wouldn't count on it.

Put up the vat and then ask people not to go to where it is cheaper, out of patriotism. They expected that to work? Thick as pigshit, that lot.

You can't say the anti-treaty Soldiers of Destiny don't do irony...

Was that paying through Paypal? Be interested to see what the exchange rate applied on the credit card is.
