Beers from Holland 17 years 1 month ago #1

More details to follow

I am coming home in May or there about and will bring some beers with me.

Currently I am bringing
Westlevern 8, dont think much of 10 (or however it is spelt)
De Prael (amsterdam micro)
t'Ij: strus and colombus for sure (amsterdam micro)
De Mollen (dutch micro somewhere south of Amsterdam)
Texel triple (Dutch micro located on Texel island)

I will try and organise a location for tasting (hopefully bierhaus cork) if there is any interest.

[b:1f4ehkgh]If this happens feel free to drop by and sample some real Dutch beer.[/b:1f4ehkgh]

P.s. I will have a limited supply, probably 5 bottles from each brewery.

Interested in Dutch beer? Hell yeah! 't Arendsnest is one of my favourite pubs in the world. I've met Menno of De Molen a couple of times and he's a lovely bloke who makes amazing beer. His brewery in Bodegraven (between Utrecht and Leiden) is well worth a visit -- my account is here[/url:w0ishpix].

I doubt I'll make it to Cork for a tasting, but I'd certainly suggest that anyone in the area take riven up on his generous proposal.

Hi Riven,

I am sure msyelf and a few more members from the Cork area would be very pleased to join in a tasting at the Bierhaus. I am also sure Dave in the Bierhaus would be happy to host us as well. Let me know here or PM me closer to the time and we can arrange a suitable time.

Welcome to the site.

Hey Riven, of course I am interested in sampling, but won't be able to take up your kind offer. I [i:2bqmo3es]will[/i:2bqmo3es] be sampling some Dutch brews on home soil in a few weeks. I have sampled several from De Prael and 't Ij breweries. Always liked Vlo on tap, doesn't keep too well in the bottle though. Also really liked Mary from de Prael. And like TBN, I have been in 't Arendsnest a few times and the last time I recall enjoying a SNAB pale ale and a Jopen stout (delish!). I have had one from Texels (a bock, I think) but didn't really go for it at the time. Sláinte!

I have mentioned it in passing to Dave will get more details as the time gets closer.

I am thinking of a relaxing Sunday afternoon type thing but that could change.

I would be up for it. Maybe we could roll it into a Munster Brach ICB meet up, as think we are due one?
