Guinness Promotion - Nothing for Designated Driver 17 years 3 months ago #1

I was in my UNI bar recently when Guinness were in doing a promotion. If you bought a pint you got a chance at a game where you could win rugby jersies etc...

When they came over I said brill, what is the facility for the designated driver? The answer...

"We're running an alcoholic promotion?!?!" (Blank expression follows)

"But aren't Guinness and Diageo always expressing the responsible drinking and such..."

The responce to this was worse. She ignored me and turned to next group to see whether she could get a few more pints out of them...

What do you think of all this?

You dodged a bullet. Congrats <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt=":D" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

I think it was a beer producer running a beer promotion, the whole point of which is to get people to try their product. Ignoring you might not be the best way to deal with it though.

It was probably a PR firm running a beer promotion for a beer producer. A different PR firm probably does their Drink Safely campaign. One with less attractive girlies...

You got that one right <!-- s;) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt=";)" title="Wink" /><!-- s;) -->

I'll admit to looking for a bit of banter, but I still expected a responce. And your right too about it not actually being Guinness running these things, it's always about getting a quoata of pints so they can finnish up and go home...
