Hello all - I'm David or twitter name @stravale. Just joined here after moving from Scotland to near Carrick-On-Shannon a few days ago. I've been actively rating beers on rateBeer for 2.5 years and I'm excited to try as many Irish beers as possible. I also intend to blog on Irish beers - my web address is www.stravale.com - Only 2 reviews there at the moment but there's a lot more coming in the future!

I have it - it's very useful, but very few outlets where I am based.

I just signed up so thought I'd introduce myself.
I brewed a couple of kits two years ago but the fermenter found it's way to the back of the press and forgotten about.
I decided to get the gear back out and have another go at it, I bottled an IPA kit during the week and started a cider last night, 12 litters of Lidl apple juice, 2 rooibos teabags boiled with 85g of raisins, OG of 1.048. Planning on trying extract next, can anyone recommend a stout or an American IPA to try?

Cheers, D.

Hi guys,

Name's Eoghan, at the moment I can only call myself a craft beer lover but I soon hope to start some home brewing. I'm enjoying the wealth of info on both beers and brewing, great site!

Hi Folks,

Real name is Dave but Hingo was my childhood nickname so I use it for forums n that as it's usually available (less common than Dave anyway!)

Anywho, like Eoghan I'm a Craft Beer lover going to start off homebrewing after Xmas (getting the starter equipment for Xmas ) It's something I really want to get going with all the different techniques etc. I even started up my own my own website where I'll blog about the whole starting off experience from the perspective of a newbie and let things go from there. Have also set myself a bit of a challenge but wont pipe on about that now, seen as I haven't even started yet and this is only my first post.

I'll probably be on a lot when I get started looking for advice etc on what I'm brewing, etc etc - Hopefully I don't become a nuisance with all my questions. Heard about Beoir at the Irish Craft beer gig in the RDS and have been on reading all the different stuff you guys have been up to since & I must say I'm very impressed! So thought it might be about time for me to say hello and get involved!
