Because everyone knows you can't launch an effective campaign without accompanying colour-coordinated women.

Maybe if the general public realise that beer and food actually do pair well, they might want to improve on the poor fairings already available and create a demand for better products.

Although it was quite interesting at the launch, to see all the big wigs partaking in imported beers, and unbelievably, micro brews. The most remarked about beer(in a good way) was O Hara's by the way.

Well at least in yonder version the color-coordinated women do not all have full glasses in each of the pictures. All the irish version says to me is that 'pretty women do not drink beer' <!-- s:( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:( -->

It is easy to be cynical about the actions of big macro brewers but I suppose we should just celebrate that good beer drank for its taste (and with good food) is being promoted.

But the general public are not going to do that in the abstract. They need to be [i:1k68zt1q]given[/i:1k68zt1q] the good beer to go with the good food, and this is something the companies behind this campaign seem unwilling to provide. This campaign looks to me to be putting the cart far beyond the horse's range of vision.

If it was being run by NorEast, Claddagh, Dean and Wally I could understand. But how do Diageo, Heineken and InBev expect to gain?

I forgot to take one of those leaflets with me last night to have a read. I do remember tip 4 being edited out by those at the table. Pour straight? Only if it's Ken's undercarbonated ale...

Interesting thing in this pic is not only can beer be matched with food, but it can also act as an accessory, complimenting your hair colour. Man...
