They will when they see 2 O Hara's taps in here.
On a grand scale, no. Unless every bar in Carlow sells it, i don't think they are too bothered.
The big three know they have bigger budgets than the small guys, and also know that smaller brands rely on "word of mouth", or the niche market, which the big guys are not interested in anyway.

How about this one[/url:2wn1b8oc]:

I still can't see why they're running it. You pick up that leaflet in the pub, read it, then try and relate it to the Coors Light and peanuts which the bar you're in is serving.

In tips for serving beer they mention that light affects beer taste which is why many brewers use dark bottles.
So why are most large breweries bottling in clear bottles if they're so concerned about the taste?

Also as has been mentioned do any of the big brewers in Ireland make porter, IPA, Brown ales or any of the styles mentioned here?
I wonder why you'd bother advertising these styles of beer if the customer can't buy them from your brewery. I know InBev has these styles in other countries but in Ireland it all seems to be about the big brands and limiting choice.

I'll stop now before this turns into a full on rant...

I saw a box of the leaflets in Messrs Maguire recently, though they were safely stored on a shelf behind the bar lest anyone actually want to read one.

That seems to be fairly typical of the attitude in Messers. I was there last Friday for a couple of pints of porter and once again, I was reminded of how they fail to promote their own brews.
