How about the book ‘100 Belgian Beers to try before you die’

If you think he may fancy trying brewing? Kits are real easy and available in all types of beer including Belgian.

The Homebrew Co is the first stop for getting stuff here in Ireland. Lots of 'how to' stuf on this site!

Biscuit Malt is apparently a good substitute for Victory malt and I have used it in a couple of recipes that listed Victory. Not having used Victory malt I can't comment on how close of a match it is but the beers worked out well.

I'll confirm that biscuit and victory malts are pretty much interchangeable. I think victory is just a brand name for one firm's biscuit malt.
