American breweries have to register new labels with the Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB). This register is published, and has become a source of many heated speculations by beer geeks, who use it to get a preview of new beers before the brewery announces them. Which can't be much fun for the brewers.

So Stone have just registered this[/url:2xje2pxi] new label. "Otaku", as it says underneath, is a Japanese term for someone with obsessive interests.

Very good, some of those beer geeks get so wound up. there seam to be a high proration of ex dudgeons and dragons followers among them.

Maybe be its the need of a mass of rules that drives them:?:

The Stone Brewery has built a bit of reputation as having an attitude issue. I've seen several posts on US boards about folks getting a less than polite response from Stone if they ask for the recipe for Stone's Arrogant Bastard Ale. I figure the very name of that beer kind of dictates that they give that sort of reply. So yes, that label registration is in keeping with their reputation.
