Brew Crafting for dummies 17 years 6 months ago #1

Myself and two of my friends have recently moved to a new house with loads of extra room in it and a shed out back so we decided to brew our own ale and possible cider as we have an apple tree out back but we have read the books and they havent made alot of sense to me would someone be able to e-mail me the Idiots Basics to brewing id Much appreciate it.

Welcome to the site!

I'd say try reading the guides in the Knowledgebase section of this site first, and if you have any questions, see if they have appeared in the forums or pop a few posts in.

Things to look at first are:
A guide to Kit Brewing[/url:1gtas54q]
A guide to Extract Brewing[/url:1gtas54q]

Should be a a good start

A good online source is www.howtobrew.com. John Palmer is the author of book called (not surprisingly) How to Brew. He's put out the third edition, but has put the first edition online in its entirety, and even states you can print out as much as you'd like. Of course, being a US author, the units are in archaic gallons, pounds, and Fahrenheit, but the concepts are still clear, and with a little math you can figure out the details of what he's talking about.
