According to CNBC this is the list of the top 20 countries whose populations can't get enough beer:

Where do you think lil old Ireland placed in the rankings?

Yeah, isn't it interesting that the top three have an incredibly conservative taste in beer and an inflated sense of the quality of their national macroswill. Drinking lots of beer seems to almost guarantee drinking dull beer.

How are they measuring?
Thats 262.2 500ml bottles a year
+wine +spirits
Assuming they only count the beer; thats what let the czechs win. Thet should have included home brew also!
