I'm accompanying a Síle na Gig to a museum in Dusseldorf in a fortnight's time, and work is paying! What should I look out for while I'm there? Hopefully I'll have two nights at least.

Seriously though, you should plan to visit some of the breweries in the cty. There's one in particular you should try to make it toZum Uerige[/url:go2u5wb3] where they make a fairly bitter yet fruity alt. I just had a bottle last night. They brew and bottle in the premesis. Another one to possibly try is Brauerei im Füchschen[/url:go2u5wb3]. It's been a long time since I've been to Duesseldorf (other than the airport, which is terrible since I live near enough to there now), but I do recall the Alt Stadt being nice to walk around, and there's a promenade along the Rhine. Other than that, pubs and breweries! <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->

Just a sec... a Síle na Gig? Is it being lent to the museum in Duesseldorf? I used to work in archaeology, and the wife is one. An archaeologist I mean!

very fine spot....that Bolkerstraße street in the Altstadt should have enough to keep you out of circulation....also you can to a trip on rhine leaves from the promanade ..( you can get a beer on the boat)
