Cerveza? Suits you sir! 17 years 9 months ago #1

Hi,

OK, Im not proud of this, but Im going to Spain (Malaga to be exact) on a stag weekend, and I was wondering if anyone has any knowledge or good experiences of *decent* beer in the region. Not that I'll know what Im drinking at 6am, but it would be nice to start on something good <!-- s:wink: --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_wink.gif" alt="" title="Wink" /><!-- s:wink: -->

Any recommendations would be much appreciated!!

Cheers

I would imagine San Miguel, Mahou, Estrella Damne, and the like are the norm in most pubs. I think most local beer is lager.. The Estrella Galecia is supposed to be quite nice and I picked up a few bottles of Cruzcampo and Alahamra on one holiday which is breweed in Grenada I think which were quite nice. Maybe you might find a quirky off licence but I imagine not. Enjoy the craic and don't forget your supply of solpadeine!

Decent beer is hard to find in most Spanish resorts, generally you'll have to make do with bland lager unless you want to switch to wine. If you can find real Spanish cider it's your best bet. Ufortunately Bulmers is often more available in tourist spots than their own excellent cider but bigger supermarkets should stock it.
