I'll be home for christmas...where to drink? 17 years 9 months ago #1

So, I moved from Donegal to Virginia, just outside Washington DC about 8 years ago.

I haven't been home in 3 years.
I'll be home for christmas this year.

Obviously when I get home, I still have my locals in Letterkenny, and Enniskillen (where my wife is from, Blakes of the Hollow have the best guinness I've ever tasted), but we may be in Dublin for a couple of nights.

The family I have in the Dublin area, are from Finglas, Crumlin and out in Ashbourne, so aside from the Hunters Moon and Brogans, I don't know much about drinking in Dublin.

Is there anywhere that has good beers, that are not the usual, Guinness/Harp/Carlsberg etc on tap, that is worth going to?

I'm sort of spoiled out here with the renassaince the craft brewing industry is going through, and the fact that there is a brewpub in the same facility as where we play ice hockey, always good for a post game pint.

Anyway, where to go?

Cheers

You might have caught the odd reference around here to a pub near Christchurch called The Bull & Castle. It's pretty good. Then there's the three Dublin branches of The Porterhouse and Messrs Maguire.

In Dublin these days it's easier to get a pint of Galway Hooker than a pint of Harp.
