Who What When Where and Why? 19 years 1 month ago #1

Don't see anything about who we all are (short of examing everyones' profiles) so thought this might be useful - go on, ye know ye want to!

[b:t20foyu6]Whoami[/b:t20foyu6] : Ken
[b:t20foyu6]Location[/b:t20foyu6] : Dublin 14
[b:t20foyu6]Age[/b:t20foyu6] : 30
[b:t20foyu6]Job[/b:t20foyu6] : Software Engineer
[b:t20foyu6]Started Brewing[/b:t20foyu6] : 2005 (but took 2006 off to go travelling the world)
[b:t20foyu6]Brewing Level[/b:t20foyu6] : Only kits so far - probably 8 or 9 kits total. Hoping to go all grain by end 2007.
[b:t20foyu6]Favourite Beers[/b:t20foyu6]: Most Belgians - Duvel, Delerium Tremens etc, also Stouts, Dark beers. Love trying new stuff.
[b:t20foyu6]Why brew? [/b:t20foyu6]: Because I can. And because it is interesting to see what different beers can be made, and it keeps me out of the pub.
[b:t20foyu6]Other Interests[/b:t20foyu6] : Rugby, Snowboarding, Travel, Photography, Computers, windsurfing.

[b:15fl7fx4]Whoami[/b:15fl7fx4] : Thom

[b:15fl7fx4]Location[/b:15fl7fx4] : Co. Dublin

[b:15fl7fx4]Age[/b:15fl7fx4] : 27

[b:15fl7fx4]Job[/b:15fl7fx4] : Medical Scientist

[b:15fl7fx4]Started Brewing[/b:15fl7fx4] : 2003
[b:15fl7fx4]
Brewing Level [/b:15fl7fx4]: All grain since late last year. (Though can't say I've produced an all grain I'm very happy with yet.) Extract with hops before that. Only did one or two kits before switching to seperate ingredients.

[b:15fl7fx4]Favourite Beers [/b:15fl7fx4]: APAs, IPAs, Bitters, Porters. Goose Island IPA, Anchor Liberty Ale, Fuller's ESB, TSB, SNPA, Meantime IPA & Porter.

[b:15fl7fx4]Why Brew[/b:15fl7fx4] : I love the freedom to brew whatever I feel like. Particularly since I went all grain. Also, brewing is a wonderful mixture of science and art. I love the creative process and it satisifies the scientist in me.

Ok I'll play.

[b:1at17a9j]Whoami :[/b:1at17a9j] Séan (pronounced Shane) Billings
[b:1at17a9j]Location :[/b:1at17a9j] Dublin city centre.
[b:1at17a9j]Age :[/b:1at17a9j] 35
[b:1at17a9j]Job :[/b:1at17a9j] IT Support monkey for a newspaper website.
[b:1at17a9j]Started Brewing :[/b:1at17a9j] In college, seeking cheap booze.
[b:1at17a9j]Brewing Level :[/b:1at17a9j] All grain for a couple of years now. I have a lot of brews under my belt though, as I am pretty obsessive about it and brew quite often.
[b:1at17a9j]Favourite Beers:[/b:1at17a9j] There are so many lovely beers out there. Can't really answer this question. I suppose my favourite beer would have to be the one I have heard good things about, but have yet to try.
[b:1at17a9j]Why brew? :[/b:1at17a9j] I find the process both interesting and relaxing. I love designing beers, the smell of boiling wort, the scent of hops, a new beer that haven't tasted yet, sharing my beer with friends. Every thing about it, basically.
[b:1at17a9j]Other Interests :[/b:1at17a9j] Role-playing games, ancient history, good food & cooking.

[b:1qgxrbxe]Whoami[/b:1qgxrbxe] : Barry
[b:1qgxrbxe]Location[/b:1qgxrbxe] : Kimmage, Dublin
[b:1qgxrbxe]Age[/b:1qgxrbxe] : 35
[b:1qgxrbxe]Job [/b:1qgxrbxe]: I work as a "Solutions Architect" for a GIS company
[b:1qgxrbxe]Started Brewing [/b:1qgxrbxe]: 2006
[b:1qgxrbxe]Brewing Method[/b:1qgxrbxe] : Went straight into extract brewing using DME with speciality grains and am very happy with the results so far. Have no urge to go full grain due to space and, in particular, time.
[b:1qgxrbxe]Favourite Beers[/b:1qgxrbxe]: I have to say that changes alot. At the moment it's English Ales in their many forms, but I've been known to have affairs with Belgian Ales and Lambics. Basically anything though, depending on my mood.
[b:1qgxrbxe]Why brew? [/b:1qgxrbxe]: Just for fun really! Me and an old mate decided to do it together so it's a social thing too. He did it about 10 years ago so we decided to give it a go last year while sitting in the Porterhouse.
[b:1qgxrbxe]Other Interests [/b:1qgxrbxe]: Ehhh...
