The Food Safety Authority is doing a consultation on food labelling laws, running until 25th March. I've just put a submission in on Beoir's behalf, mentioning that address of production would be helpful for consumers and help avoid dodgy provenance practice, and also that not all food needs a best-before date (thinking of strong beers there) but if it's made non-mandatory, there should be a date of production instead.
