In the Indo today[/url:1pze9qy0], talk of a possible joint bid by Diageo and Louis-Vuitton-Moët-Hennessy to take over Pernod Ricard. I'm sure Eight Degrees is a tiny and insignificant part of that global portfolio, but it does raise the possibility of Diageo getting into the microbrewery game a few years after closing all their existing satellite breweries in Ireland.

Interesting. Article suggests LVMH and Diageo might split the brands, so presumably whoever takes Jameson will take Eight Degrees too.

Yep, that was the point of the exercise: securing a beer supply for Caskmates. I can't imagine there'd be any regulatory objection to Diageo owning Eight Degrees, though there might be with them owning Irish Distillers since they also have Roe under construction. LVMH doesn't have any Irish spirits properties.
