I like reading reddit like most folks. I’m not a huge contributor (other than logging links to my own podcasts). But, it is a great source of leading people to resources & is one of the best link-leader sites out there. So, when I go looking for a dedicated thread for Irish Craft Beer, what do I find? Some threads that have had the love of a fart in a spacesuit, & others that are under the central beer threads that are more about American Brewery’s takes on Irish Beer styles.
This just won’t do. We’ve a craft beer scene here that is being looked at around the world. I’ve got a decent number of American & UK listeners to the show on top of Irish ones. The bloggers here in Ireland around craft beer can tell you about their interactions with foreign brewers or people looking to find out more about Irish Craft Beer. There’s clones of me knocking about stateside posting reviews of Irish Craft Beers like Galway Bay’s ‘Of Foam & Fury’ on Ratebeer.com, & last night 8 Degrees Brewing pocketed a Bronze at the World Beer Cup for ‘Amber Ella’ (which anyone who listened to the show two weeks ago made my ’2014 Q1 Recommended’ list).
So, what we need now is a few good Redditors to join me in the moderation & curation of this thread. I’m also looking for other bloggers to spread the word about this thread too & to post links to their latest blogs about Irish Craft beer here too. I might not be able to tell you which tan from which cow’s hide a certain beer smells like, or in what month the berry aroma in a beer was picked – but I do know the Internet, & I know how to drive interest to our beers. The podcast so far is further proof.
