If drinking lighter bodied beers like PA or IPA I like hummus with warm pitta bread or maybe some classic Buffalo Wings.
For stouts I like black pudding with a red onion jam.
I'm surprised that the concept of tapas never caught on here. Then again €5 for some olives and bread would put you off.

I like trying different pairings and will certainly try the black pudding and stout combo. I like to serve imperial stouts with either a light dark chocolate or rich milk chocolate, if that makes sense.

I think tapas have caught on here to some extent but it can be an issue of quality/quantity/value. One of the busiest restaurants in my home town is a tapas bar!

Certainly the whole craft beer bar with a take on localish produce tapas would be something I'd be interested in. Anyone doing this in the Big - or any Little - Shmokes?

Paddy Frawleys on Thomas St. in Limerick have gad a few beer promotion nights. The finger food was outstanding. The afore mentioned black pudding, pork belly in honey, prawn & chorizo skewers,
I make my own Cumberland Sausages and they go brilliantly with an IPA.

Don't get to Limerick too often but that sounds good, and great for finding out what beers suit different foods.

Heading back to Belgium soon <!-- s:) --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_smile.gif" alt=":)" title="Smile" /><!-- s:) --> and I love the fact that most beer bars sell plates of cheese and/or cured meats that complement the beers.

Grazing like this suits me more than gluttony!

Had a black pudding and beer night on Friday. Black pudding from Athea Co.Limerick with home made chutney, Blackrock and Leann Folláin, class.
