Number 206 bus into town, and taxi back is the plan. The taxi will be a tenner, €12 max.

I thought the 206 was a fair bit of a walk up a road with no footpaths up to Frankfield.

No, there are footpaths alright (check streetview). I've relatives in Cork who say it's about an 8 min walk to the 206 terminus (Google concurs), and the 206 itself is very frequent.

Alternatively there's the Park & Ride across the road, but I understand it's €5 regardless of whether or not you have a car, or whether or not you're coming back later.

Yeah but that road is the kinsale roundabout! Better of getting the bus or a group taxi into town, it's a two minute drive and a short walk.

It's a pity this is on that weekend, either weekend either side would've been perfect for me, I've a match that Sunday. <!-- s:-( --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_sad.gif" alt=":-(" title="Sad" /><!-- s:-( -->

Nah. They'd be fine walking to Frankfield. I last used that road about ten years ago and there were no footpaths then. If there is now its an ok walk. The magic roundabout to the park and ride can be a bit mental though.

To be honest, if there's a few people sharing a taxi will be cheap enough. Just ask to go to The Grand Parade and avoid playing silly buggers with the roads and traffic. (unless traffic is quiet)
