The 6pm close is damned uncivilised, but I'll be there on Friday if I can get the afternoon off work.

For anyone going, might be worth using a GIY(Grow it youself) discount code, if booking through ticket master. I think the booking charge is included in the €13.
I'm not going, but had a look on ticketmaster, and the voucher does seem to work, but the tickets don't seem to be €20 to begin with, but still looks to be a bit of a saving for you non student/OAP's!

There is a discount for discount GIYers
The Adult Day Card price is 20 Euro, GIYers pay 13 Euro.

To avail of the discount:
1. Goto <!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="www.ticketmaster.ie/promo/toc7ho?camefro...M&brand=ie_bloom">www.ticketmaster.ie/promo/toc7ho ... d=ie_bloom
2. Choose day of visit
3. Goto Adult Ticket with Promotional discount
4. Use unique GIY code - GIY11

Also 2euro off with the discount code FBB11... think advance ticket prices are 15 wuro, 20 euro on the day. There's also some sort of a deal with An Post if you pay 2 bills there, and loads of gardening centres have 2 for 1 entry vouchers to give out.

Fair play to everyone involved with Bloom, I had a great time on both trips there. I even got to see some gardening stuff. For half an hour. On Saturday morning.

Highlights for me included getting to try 8 Degrees' first beer Howling Gale, Messrs Maguire's "Seasonal special" Haus lager, Metalman's Windjammer (preferred it on keg at Bloom but did my best to finish the cask in the Bull and Castle on sat night) and Dungarvan's Coffee and Oatmeal stout. Also the cheese trays from a nearby stall complemented the beer perfectly. I also enjoyed getting to chat with the brewers, I believe my ambition to one day open a brewery reached epic proportions by Saturday evening. Even my wife was tempted.

It was an expensive few days, what with the entry fee, the t-shirts I purchased and the trip to the Bull and Castle afterwards. But it made up for missing Easterfest. Roll on next year, or even another Dublin based craft beer festival...

I thought the whole food village with the beer tents was really well arranged and the food and drink on offer was great.

Well done to all the exhibitors.
