I got a query in asking for details of Ireland's national-level beer festival. I think I heard that the ICBI may be planning a new one, but otherwise I don't think we have what would normally be understood by the term.
But I was wondering: would it be fair to classify the Franciscan Well Easter Festival as Ireland's national festival? It takes place pretty consistently, it's been the launching point for many a new brewery, and while only a minority of breweries attend, there's generally a decent spread from around the country. Until something bigger is established, is this our national festival, or am I just an old man hankering after the 2010s when life was simpler?
