Ordering beer from Belgium 12 years 11 months ago #1

I'm thinking of ordering some Belgian beer (maybe 24 bottles or so) for my own personal consumption. You can't get the ones I want here but I've seen them on a belgian beer shop website.
Has anybody done this? Will the beer get through? Will I have to pay duty? Or will I even get the opportunity?

Your advice would be much appreciated

Inside the EU, it's the shop's job to settle up with Irish Revenue, and I'd say none of them do. If they don't, then the parcel could be stopped and you'll be liable for the charge. In practice I get the impression, anecdotally, that parcels sent from inside the EU don't get the same attention as those from outside.

I'd advise asking the shop if they're sure it'll be OK to order the beer from Ireland. At least then you have comeback with them if something goes wrong.

Cheers! Sounds like good advice. Based on the price, I'm guessing they dont the duty pay up front. I'll ask and post back if I get a positive response (may be of use to others).
