Berliner weisse? 13 years 9 months ago #1

I realised recently that I've never tasted a Berliner Weisse. Are they even available in Ireland and what brand/brewery should I look out for?

Ta.

Berliner Kindl and it's considered a kiddy or a granny drink in Germany.

They don't even really consider it to be beer with an ABV under 3%.
Not saying you shouldn't try it, but don't expect a session beer, and get some Raspberry or Waldmeister syrup and you can introduce your 12 year old to beer.

Polish shops sell a raspberry syrup which would be very suitable, waldmeister is green synthetic stuff, not sure where you'd find it apart from the internet.

Not exactly a glowing recommendation there Eoin.

Would I get Berliner Kindl in Redmonds, Drinkstore or anywhere else?

No not really, I hated the shit when I worked in Germany. Awkward glasses and grannies scraping together coppers from their purses to pay for it and then they'd leave you a few pfennig tip.......those were the days.

As said it's not really considered a beer, just traditional and a refreshing summer drink.

Actually it's kindl, which means small child.....not my scene, maybe with a shot of vodka in it....
