If you find their IV Saison, jump on it: it's really good too.

I have access to their wheat beer and their saison on draft; prioritizing it now. Thanks!

Monk's Stout from Dupont is also definitely worth a try if you want a dry, summery stout; it's definitely a "Belgian Stout"/Belgian version of a Schwartz bier.

De Dolle's "Special Extra Export Stout" is a knock-off of the old Guinness extra stout bottle art so I had to grab one of those, too.

OK, I'll play - what reason?

I don't spend a whole lot of time on rating sites but from what I can see, the ratings are heavily skewed by strength, by style and by rarity. And Jandrain-Jandrenouille wouldn't necessarily hit those buttons.

That said, a quick look at V Cense on RateBeer shows it has 94 points out of 100. That sounds pretty far from not getting any respect to me.

Another reason for a skewed weighting on some sites (such as BeerAdvocate) is if the brew is widely available in the US or not. The vast majority of the users/reviewers on that site are US-based. Plenty of the rarer and more unique brews will not be tasted and reviewed by enough users to feature strongly.

Surely one mans meat is anothers poison.

I would use reviews that I trust, some of whom post here, and then make up my own mind.

Would agree with John re the USA slant.
