Tradewinds 18 years 6 months ago #1

A couple of months ago I was driving around Scotland sampling all the local real ales on my way. The most of them were quite nice, but some were best forgotten . One that blew me away was Tradewinds by Cairngorm brewery. It was yum in a bottle. As I have a rather limited pallet or ability to articulate it thats the best I can do. Looking on there website they same its made with substantial amounts of wheat and elderflower in the mash. Does anybody who has sampled this stuff think the main character comes from the wheat or the elder flowers.

You could try comparing it with Badger Golden Champion. This is made with elderflowers and you should find it in the better off licences.

Ohh, I have a bottle of Golden Champion at home. Might have to try that this evening so. I'd imaging the elderflowers would give it a really interesting edge.

I enjoyed their First Gold, but as i've no idea what first gold hops should be like I couldn't tell if I was picking them out or not. It's only first gold hops in that brew though right?
