I ordered one there last week and it's arrived and in its' "recovery brew" since wednesday. Curious as to how everyone else is getting on with theirs - how does it taste? Any idea on ABV?

I had one for about 6 months but was not drinking enough ginger beer to be using it regularly, which helps keep it in condition. I was going weeks between brews just feeding it sugar most of the time in a little jar and eventually it got infected. I think the key is to be making ginger beer every week or so its going into an active growth phase and fighting off any other natural infections floating around. I was making 10-15 Litre batches and while very nice there is only so much of anything you can drink in a week <!-- s:D --><img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/icon_biggrin.gif" alt="" title="Very Happy" /><!-- s:D -->. If i had another in the future i would make 2 litres at a time every week or so. Also i used powdered ginger for 1 batch which stained the GDP brown for a long time so would stick with Ginger root after that.
