Rather tardily I'm afraid

The interesting ones are never up to date (like who you work for!!)

I was really talking for pre-2004 figures, but they would be useful for building trends etc anyway.

O'Hara's export 75% of their output (a portion of which is not own-label), turnover is around €21 million. Porterhouse export around 5%. Turnover around €32, but a lot of that is not brewing related.

No-one else is exporting I think, but I believe the Franciscan Well are looking to start.

In the time immediately prior to 2004, only O'Hara's was exporting I think, and you'd have a bit of a trawl to find what the figures were.

O'Hara's export figures have dropped to closer to 60 or even 55%, partially driven by sales of their IPA, which was their top seller for the first time last year.

Franciscan Well began bottling directly in response to demands for export. BrewEyed are looking into it as well.

(This is all from chats with the brewers.)

Yeah, the O'Hara's figure is from 2010, so I wouldn't be surprised if their domestic sales had increased as a rising tide lifts all boats, or so Bertie told us when he said the boom just got boomer.

But, I would be serious surprised if their domestic sales had grown that much. But maybe. Do you have any source for the figure?

I think the other micros are "looking" at exporting, but not actually doing anything about it. i.e. maybe some day.

An interview with Seamus in Licensing World in Oct 2011 stated that Irish consumers account for a third of their total sales.

Anyone have any up to date figures on the market share of craft beer? Datamonitor had it at 0.1% in 2010, not sure if thats even accurate.

Seamus O'Hara said those figures at a tasting at Next Door in Kimmage last month. If he's exporting 60%, that roughly fits with the Licensing World article.

Shane Long of FW told me that he's just signed with a distributor for the East Coast of the US, and has meetings coming up with others for Scandinavia and Italy.
