€50 Promissory Note from Drinkstore?- Ideas Please 14 years 3 months ago #1

Hi,

The Good Lady Wife put a '€50 in Drinkstore' promissory note in my stocking this year...

Looking for a few ideas for any 'must try' brews.. I'm a big fan of English Ales (London Pride/Landlord etc.) also love a seasonal brew... and American IPAs and Weizens.

Thinking of doing a mix n match of Sierra Nevadas weirder stuff and picking up a few of the seasonals... any other ones worth a try though? from leftfield if you please (no Lagers or Macros).

Mick

The UK selection on the website isn't great at the moment. Thornbridge Kipling is one not to miss. They have Fyne Ales Avalanche, which is very nice, though Jarl is even better.

The Nøgne Ø range is well worth exploring too, while you don't have to put your hand in your pocket.

You have to try Brooklyn Local 1 & Sierra Nevada Northern & Southern Hemisphere Harvest if you haven't already. Avalanche & Hurricane from Fyne ales are fantastic. Nogne IPA is very nice but extremley expensive!

Thanks TBA, [b:30cvv8p6]Kipling and Avalanche[/b:30cvv8p6] added to the list... I've avoided thre Nogne o range or anything too expensive until the equity release has been approved! I'm going for breadth over depth, that way I can go back to the ones I enjoyed. Don't want to develop a tase for Nogne O range, the centre would never hold!

Also went for Goose Island Harvest and Kinggoblin (love Hobgoblin) and Hogs Back T.E.A. Are these worth a plump?

Any reccomendation in the Bock dept?

James/Wylde, I'm allowing myself one gross indulgence, so if it had to be South or North (in SN range) which would it be?

I'm hoping to take delivery of these in time for weekend and sample a few throughout the France-Ireland game.. In honour of our esteemed French Colleagues (and to salute all Sarko has done for us) it would be rude not to select a French Tipple?

Anyone tried [b:3lygrm2t]Belzebuth[/b:3lygrm2t] or [b:3lygrm2t]Bourganel Chestnut[/b:3lygrm2t]?, I'm liking the sound of them?
