Probably when dead dry (like elephant dung fires in Africa!!)

BUT, In Ireland the manure is put into a "bio reactor/digester" i.e. a big tank/pit full of the stuff and dosed with a suitable bacteria. The liitle bacteria munch on the S**** 24/7 and produce methane gas - this is what is burned
