So last week I went to Sorrento and was going to post asking if anyone knew of any decent craft beers and if such a thing as a craft beer bar existed in the area. But then I thought better it's a wine region after all!

Anyways to my surprise they had two beers from a local brewery: [url:5ezo6kge]http://www.birrificiosorrento.com/[/url:5ezo6kge]

Unfiltered one is an amber beer with orange and the other is pale with lemon, I had the lemon beer one night with dinner but unfortunately I am not in the best of position's to judge as I had a cold during the trip, but the good news is that I have a bottle of each safely back in dublin for a bit of tasting when I kick this blocked nose. I will update ye when I've tried them!

I just wanted to remind others of the lesson learned, never doubt that a craft brewery exists even if it is an expensive town in a region that is famous for lemon's and oranges.

As an aside, lemoncello is a fairly genius aperitif!

Making your own lemoncello is DEAD simple AND delicious; highly recommended. You can store it in flip-top bottles in your freezer almost indefinitely. (Probably because it ends up about 70 proof helps.)

Unwaxed lemon peel+ sugar + vodka + tiny bit of boiled water to dissolve the sugar.

Add sugar to suite your personal taste preference (200 grams is a good place to start in 1 liter of limoncello), leave it on the peels for 4-6 weeks, agitating the container once a day, remove the peels and then pour into 2 500ml flip tops and you've got AWESOME lemoncello with a huge alcoholic kick.

That does sound easy Adam, I might just have to give it a go! I assume paint stripper vodka(smirnoff or one of it's friends) will do fine, nothing to be gained from using good vodka...

Unwaxed lemon's sounds like the hardest ingredient to source!

How many lemons' peel would be needed?
