Czech Beers ( actual ) in The Abbots Ale house 14 years 8 months ago #7

Everyone of course has a different preference. I just know that the last time I had Gambrinus was in The Czech Inn and it was muck compared to Murrays.

Can you get Kozel dark? If so, that was certainly very good in Prague... actually I think I had that elsewhere in the Czech Republic but you get the idea.

It's on draught in The Abbot's at the moment.

I was in Prague during the summer and I had kozel, I thought it was disgusting, but who can say no to 500ml bottles for 50 cent?! I much prefer budvar and pilsner urquell

Speaking of czech beers- I was in The Market Bar last week and they had both Urquell and Staropramen on tap. The Urquell tasted a bit high but the Staropramen was good.

What does tasting [i:5zf7bovl]a bit high[/i:5zf7bovl] actually entail? Outside of Amsterdam I mean.

difficult to say- It had a very toppy note on the palate reminiscent of a skunked beer.
