Carlow beers in Tesco 14 years 9 months ago #1

I mentioned on twitter a while back that Carlow beers are now €1.99 in Tesco but that there was no IPA.

Well yesterday I saw the IPA for the first time in a Tesco. I was excited but there was no priced on the shelf so I checked the price on one of those scanners. €2.79

Disgusted I left my 6 bottles in the baby section (where the scanner was).

Ouch! What Tesco did you see it in as a matter of interest?

I remember before, maybe 2-3 years ago, Tesco dropped the Carlow beers to 1.99, then put them up to 2.85, then dropped them to 2.79 and put up a "Massive Reductions" type sign. I'm surprised they've stayed at 1.99 this long.

Maybe they're about to jack up the price of the rest again, to match the IPA

If you mean the IPA, then I think it is superior in the bottle than on tap. Whereas I prefer Galway Hooker on tap to the bottled version.
