"Hi everyone! when i heard about little baby Zoe Lehane from Mallow (my home town) I just had to do someting!
Zoe Lehane Lavarde from Mallow turned one on the 8th April 2011 along with her twin brother Leo. Zoe is not well at the moment, she has a rare form of cancer called AT/RT.
This cancer is very rare. Shorty before her birthday she had a tumour removed from her brain. She will have to go for further treatment in America.
The tumour, called Atypical/Rhabdoid Tumour (AT/RT), is a rare aggressive cancer that arises either in the cerebellum or cerebral cortex and often spreads through the central nervous system. The cerebellum is the lower, back part of the brain that controls balance. It is a highly malignant tumour and usually diagnosed in childhood. Pediatric brain cancer is the second leading cause of childhood death, just after leukemia.

you may ask what is a Duvel Challenge?? in short it comes from a tale a Dutch tourist told me one afternoon, about some Belgian bars running this event/ pay 150e drink 10 in an hour within the rules( no peeing, no leaving your stool, and few others) NOW we will have a slightly toned down version in aid of Zoe! So far we have 9 volunteers, many more are welcome, just drop in for a pint and il run it by you. Now i dont want MEAS shutting us down for being too mad so what im suggesting is we team up in 2 or 3 when it comes to the actual drinking! ie 10 between 2 or 3 people. honestly i dont want anyone getting too sick or ill!
Now we will have donation buckets on the counter in the next few days and anyone who takes part will also have a sponsership card- im setting a realistic target of 400e per person!, spot prizes are needed too for a draw we will have on the night! (so if you know any local business please ask them for a little something) im hoping to have a few celebrities to be our guests of honor and am also hoping to get our hands on a Munster rugby Jersey to auction off!
