I just tried the Avalanche last night after your blog recommendation. A VERY dry finish really helped to show off the hops; I wouldn't say it's exactly balanced with the high level of bitterness and low residual sweetness, but I did enjoy it and that's what matters most. I'll have to try "Jarl" (If Redmond's has it.).
