I'm sure Aiken/Pod concerts would argue that it was €5 a pint.

There was a "scheme" in place whereby you paid €8 for a pint and if you brought your plastic cup back, the next drink was only €5.

The blurb said it was an attempt to be "environmentally aware", but basically it was a blatant attempt to rip off the kids.

I'm sure by advertising a pint at €5 they were committing an offense, as it was impossible to walk up to the bar and buy a pint at that price. Originally at least. Hence the €8 a pint comment earlier.

Same with myself, but at eight quid a pop, it'd want to be good.[/quote:1dys4cpt]

Did they give you a lemon with the pint for that price

Now if it was €8 for a hooker...

We're still doing that joke, right?

mea culpa , no interesting beers in the body & soul area this year, heineken must've turned the screws on. had a few paulaner and a few heineken and a couple of jugs of pimms in the pussy parlure which were nice. i actually thought the ecocup idea worked well, bit of a pain keeping the cup but it meant there was a lot less rubbish underfoot and a fiver a pint isn't too bad. though the sight of people 'rescuing' ecocups from the urinals for the 3e deposit was nearly as nauseating as the smell. wish i hadn't bothered with the jesus and mary chain - rubbish.

Thought the ecocup idea was basically a swizz. I wouldn't have minded if you were at least given the option of the usual disposable plastic cup.

I also tried some organic cider from one of the stalls, which was terrible. Tasted worse than the one I made myself when I didn't actually know what I was doing. Should've know better than to be involving myself with anything 'organic' in fairness. Stupid hippies.

I quite enjoyed the J&MC. Went to see The Stooges and thought they were horrendously bad.

The Manics were the highlight of the weekend though.
